Derek English, Managing Partner of The Agency Chattanooga, was raised in the real estate industry and has a strong understanding of both home construction and real estate. After spending 17 years in homebuilding, he transitioned to real estate in 2013. This background enables him to offer clients a well-rounded perspective. Whether they are buying, selling or pursuing an investment, Derek guides them through the process with confidence, poise and ease.
A Chattanooga native, Derek maintains an up-to-the-moment understanding of the local market trends through active involvement in zoning changes, economic developments, and city planning initiatives. In 2022, he served as President of the Greater Chattanooga Realtors Association, where he focused on fostering collaboration, expanding data-sharing networks, and advocating for policies that strengthen the industry.
When he isn’t working, Derek makes time to share his love for Chattanooga’s community. Whether recommending local dining spots, providing insights about neighborhoods, or helping clients settle in and find their next favorite local spot.
In his free time, Derek enjoys restoring classic cars, exploring new bourbons, and perfecting his smoked brisket. He and his wife, Becky (fellow Managing Partner of The Agency Chattanooga) also share their home with two rescued Boxers, Willa and Cooper, who bring endless joy and remind him of the importance of home.
